4,041. Multiple Violations

Hilchos Bias HaMikdash 9:10

If a kohein is ritually unclean, has a disqualifying blemish, or didn’t wash his hands or feet, he is only subject to a Divine death penalty for services that would render a non-kohein liable. If he performs other services, he only violates a warning.

Hilchos Bias HaMikdash 9:11

Let’s say that a kohein immersed but must wait for sunset to be purified, and he must bring offerings to be purified, and he was rendered ritually unclean again, plus he’s not wearing his full “uniform” and he didn’t wash his hands and feet. If he performs the service, he is liable for each and every violation. A non-kohein, however, is only liable to the penalty of lashes for serving as a non-kohein.
